Casket – Pine Untreated Wood
This casket is handmade by the Trappist Monks at New Melleray Abbey in Peosta, Iowa. It is a simple rectangle made of untreated and unstained pine. There is no metal, fabric, or staining used in this casket. Handles are made of natural rope material. The casket is covered with all natural beeswax harvested in the USA instead of being stained. Currently New Melleray Abbey is planting approximately 40 new trees for every 1 tree harvested in their forests to ensure sustainability. This casket meets the standards of the Green Burial Council for use in a Natural Cemetery.
