The Classic Series Econo Pet Urn is low cost wood cremation urn created for Crematoriums, Funeral Homes and Veterinarians to be used a complimentary return urn that is 100% USA Made. These urns are built with the same high quality construction techniques and quality materials as our other pet urns, but without the additional decorative routering, custom personalization and engraving. The Classic Series Econo Pet Urns can include an Optional 3” X 1” High Gloss Black on Brass engravable plate which engraves with beautiful gold lettering which can be included with each urn. Determining Urn Size The best way to determine the cubic inch size of urn you should purchase would be to ask the funeral home or crematorium about the amount of cubic inches of cremains you can expect when the cremation process is complete. The amount of cremains you will receive can be hard for us to determine because of the many variables involved. Variables such as skeletal size, how long the cremains are in the cremation chamber, and the amount of processing that is done to the cremains after they are removed from the cremation chamber and prepared for placing into a cremation urn. This is why the funeral homes and/or crematoriums are the best ones to know what size urn you need because only they know the amount of cremains that are produced after the processes and standards they use. The industry standard is 1 cubic inch of space for every 1 pound of healthy weight. This industry standard should only be used as an approximate size required. We cannot be held responsible for anyone that uses this method alone for determining the size of cremation urn needed. Thank you for honoring your pet’s life by purchasing a gift that gives twice! This listing is for one stainless steel cremation pendant on a stainless steel necklace chain. The pendant has an empty chamber that is designed to hold the ashes of your beloved pet upon his or her passing. We have many other dog and cat-themed cremation pendants available in our store if you would like to check them out to make sure you are selecting your favorite. We do also sell all of our cremation pendants by themselves and on key rings as well (as seen in the photos). You can view these in our eBay store, or contact us for assistance. Again, this listing here is for one pendant with one necklace chain. The other photos are just to show you different angles of the pendant and give you a good feel for the size. We normally send this pendant on a unisex 20″ chain. If you need a different size, leave a note with payment. We usually have in stock lengths from 16″ – 28″, and three thicknesses to choose from – just message us about the length and thickness you are interested in, and we will be happy to help. We assemble these ourselves so it is no problem to request your desired size! This is a smaller cremation pendant, although it is quite thick. The pendant is about 25mm or one inch tall measuring from the top of the loops that hold the necklace to the bottom of the heart. The width is about 18mm (about 11/16 inch) at the widest point. The bone on the front is an enamel inlay. The back is flat and can be engraved, although we do not offer this service ourselves. Most of your local jewelry stores will offer this service for a small fee. We offer a large variety of pendant urns to choose from, so feel free to browse around in our store to make sure you select your favorite. The pendant can be filled using tweezers or a tiny funnel. If you do not have a funnel, you can make one out of a sheet of paper, and it will work just fine. First, unscrew the “door” on the side of the pendant using a tiny flathead screwdriver. Place the tip of the funnel into the hole of the chamber. Add a small bit of ashes to the funnel, and carefully tap the funnel until the chamber is filled. A toothpick can be used to guide the ashes, if needed. With tweezers, just pinch a small amount of ash and then place it into the opening. Be sure to screw the cap back on tightly (but be careful not to over-tighten). Then, the pendant can be worn next to your heart at all times. To form a permanent seal, you can use a touch of metal-to-metal adhesive. Some people prefer them to remain able to open to scatter the ashes in meaningful places, and then be refilled back at home. NOTE: The pendant is NOT hollow; rather, there is a tiny chamber right under the screw, so only a small amount of ashes are needed. If you need a pendant that holds more, this is not the right style for you. Please check out the pendants in our store with the words LARGE VIAL in the title – they hold quite a bit more. Stainless steel is extremely durable and can be worn even during bathing. This includes the necklace chain, which will not rust, tarnish, or discolor no matter how many times you get it wet. Again, if you are going to be wearing it or using it as a key chain, be sure to seal it with a touch of superglue. Jostling can cause unsealed pendants to open unexpectedly and spill ashes. You can clean the pendant with rubbing alcohol and a soft cloth. It will not damage any part of the pendant. The pendant will come sealed in a tiny plastic zip-loc bag, with a little card with information about RescueArtWorks! A portion of the proceeds goes directly towards helping homeless animals find their way to new loving homes. It’s a great way to honor your own dog’s life.
