The poem is laser etched and can be done with gold or silver text. It is ideal for framing, where you can place the poem on one side, and your pet’s picture on the other. The plate has pressure sensitive adhesive on the back, so you just peel and stick. Although the plates are made of durable black aluminum, these are not recommended for outdoor use, as the gold color may fade if left in direct sunlight and also the plate could become scratched. These would make a beautiful and heartfelt gift for someone you know that is grieving. The poems can be done in singular or plural versions, replacing the words “we” with the word “I” and vice versa. If your pet was a non-paw print type pet, or if you want to use this plate for a human, we can substitute hearts on the border instead of paw prints. Please include this in with your engraving information if you want either of these options to be done. Your pet’s name and date of death will be engraved on the plate. If your pet’s name was five letters or less, we can put it inside the heart shape, if desired, on selected plates where indicated. For pet’s with names that had six or more letters, the name and date will be engraved in the lower right corner. Sometimes letting go is just too painful. Many people find that holding on to just a small amount of their precious pet, whether it be a small amount of their cremains or a clipping of their hair, it somehow keeps them near and their memories close. This Memorial Key Chain provides a discreet, yet attractive means of keeping your pet’s memories close. The main key ring is 1-1/4″ with plenty of room to hold your keys. Attached to the main ring is a 1-1/2″H “Tear Drop” key ring, which allows the urn to hang below your keys to help prevent scratching. Below the Tear Drop key ring is the Keepsake Urn and Dog Angel Charm. I use only the spiral jump rings so you don’t have to worry about the charm or urn coming free from the key ring. The charm is a metal cast with white enamel wings and the keepsake urn is made of anodized aluminum with a rubber seal for air/water-tight protection. Inside the urn is a small plastic vial with a screw-on cap where you put a small amount of your pet’s cremains or hair clippings. Use it as your key chain to keep your pet’s memories with you wherever you go or place inside the included Velveteen pouch for safe keeping. (Color and style of pouch may vary). Complete instructions are included. The Keepsake Urn may be engraved for an additional cost of $12.00. You may also choose to have the plate done with or without screw holes. The plate WITH screw holes measures 9/16″H x 3-1/8″W. The plate WITHOUT screw holes measures 9/16″H x 2-3/4″L. The plates have pressure sensitive adhesive on the back, so you just peel and stick. Plexi-brass is two layers of a plastic type material, which resemble brass. The engraving machine cuts through the first layer, exposing the black layer beneath it. This is preferable to many people, as the black print shows clearly against the gold or silver plate, unlike a brass plate where the engraving would be the same color. It is also ideal for outdoor use, as it will not tarnish or fade, and again, you can clearly see the print. The plate is also flexible, unlike the brass plate, which works well for surfaces that are more curved than flat. My customers use these for a variety of purposes, for outdoor headstones, indoor urns, scrapbooks, frames, shadow boxes, etc. Typically, on this single line plate, the engraving consists of your pet’s date of birth, then your pet’s name, followed by the date of death.
