Urns will have a light coat of oil applied upon arrival to help the wood shine. It is recommended to periodically wipe your urn down with your favorite wood cleaner or oil. What size urn will you need? Based on experience, we will do our best to help you decide which is best for you. Most internet searches will tell you 1 cu inch per pound. This is a great general rule, but it is dependent on the frame size of your pet. The larger the bone structure, the more ash remains. Because these urns are hand made, they will be very similar but not all be exactly the same size. They will also vary in wood coloring and grain. As you can see from the photos the grain and coloring variation. Some may have a slight nick or a small scuff. Please know we take great care to polish and inspect each one and this is common in pieces made by hand. We carve everyday in our shop and try to get these shipped in 10 business days from the time of approved graphic. We ship these stones in USPS priority mail. We have been so for many years now. Please understand the boxes take a beating by the carriers but we have found through our experience of literally shipping 10’s of thousands of these that how we pack and how we ship is by far the best method. That said we still hear about how boxes arrive beaten up with the stones fine. If you need the box to arrive in the best condition possible we can set a listing for you that foam packs the stone to custom size. The box will still show wear but will look the best it can on arrival. The cost of this adds 22.80 to any river stone. We have had only 3 of these type stones ever be damaged from the shipping process. USPS has over the last year has lost about .5 packages out of 100. So this can happen- tracking is provided and if your stone has not arrived in 3-4 days check tracking and let us know. If they have lost your package we will replace and file the claim. If for any reason other than damage you just do not like your stone we will always refund 100% of your cost just ship the stone back. We strive to make sure everyone is happy with their purchase.
