We normally send this pendant on a unisex 20″ chain. If you need a different size, leave a note with payment. We usually have in stock lengths from 16″ – 28″, and three thicknesses to choose from – just message us about the length and thickness you are interested in, and we will be happy to help. We assemble these ourselves so it is no problem to request your desired size! This is a very small and beautiful pendant. The pendant is only about 12mm across. We offer a large variety of pendant urns to choose from, so feel free to browse around in our store to make sure you select your favorite. The pendant can be filled using a tiny funnel, or tweezers. You can make a funnel out of a sheet of paper, and it will work just fine. First, unscrew the circle cap on the top of the pendant. Tap the ash into the chamber. With tweezers, just pinch a small amount of ash and then place it into the opening. Be sure to screw the cap back on tightly after filling, but be sure not to over-tighten. Then, the pendant can be worn next to your heart at all times. For a permanent seal, you can use a touch of metal to metal adhesive. Some people prefer they remain able to open to that ashes can be spread in meaningful places, and then refilled. Most people use a touch of superglue to make sure the ashes never spill out, especially if wearing regularly or using on a key ring. Note: This pendant is NOT hollow. There is just a tiny little chamber under the screw. Only a tiny amount of ash is needed. If you are searching for a pendant that holds a larger amount, this is not the right pendant for you. Please check in our store. Our pendants that say “Large Vial” in the title hold more.Stainless steel is extremely durable and can be worn even during bathing. It will not rust, tarnish or discolor skin. You can clean it at any time using rubbing alcohol and a soft cloth. This pendant is unisex. It measures about 1 7/16 inches (40mm) by 1/2 inch (12mm). The pendant is designed to hold ashes in powder form. Please be aware that cremains have do have a texture, with particles ranging in size from powder or dust to large grains. You must be able to separate out the powder because larger particles will not fit. Please consider this before ordering. People have different comfort levels when dealing with cremation ashes. Some people are able to use a mortar and pestle to grind a little cremains down into powder and other people do not feel comfortable touching them at all. Filling can take a while because any pieces larger than powder will clog the funnel, as well as the internal part of the hourglass. If it won’t fit through the funnel, it won’t fit through the middle of the glass chamber. Please be patient with the process. You will want to work in a well-lit area covered in newsprint. Begin by unscrewing the loop ring on top of the pendant to expose the hole of the chamber. Next, use a small spoon or scoop (not provided) to place some ash remains on a folded, colored sheet of paper. Any sheet of paper will work, but a colored one allows you to see what you are working with better. Use the metal eye pin (included) to start pushing the larger pieces of ash to one side until all that is left is powder. Place the tip of the funnel (also included) into the opening of the chamber and hold in place with one hand. Move the powdered ash into the funnel. The eye pin can be used to help move it through the neck of the funnel. The funnel will clog on any piece that is too large. If this happens, clear it out with the eye pin, and continue working until you have the desired amount of ash powder in the hourglass. Most people like it to be half-full, but a little less or more is fine. After that, screw the top back onto the pendant. To create a permanent seal, use a tiny touch of superglue on the screw thread and work quickly before it dries. Finally, carefully clean your work space. The necklace will come sealed in a tiny plastic zip-loc bag, with a little card with information about RescueArtWorks!
